Easy Arrival, No 4x4

• Casa Colibri — Paved the whole way above Uvita, short and level, with a private garage — the simplest arrival in the collection.
• Casa LaVista — Paved into a gated community above Playa Hermosa; steep in places, but no 4x4 needed.
• Casa Ola Vista — Easy access above Dominicalito, and single-level once you are inside.
• Villa Costa Vida — Paved to the door in Manuel Antonio, with parking on the property — and the only home here with a lift between its levels.

Families With Young Children

• Casa Hacienda Jaguar — A warm, shallow family area in the pool and a kitchen built for real cooking, above Ojochal. Three bedrooms, sleeps nine.
• Villa Vista del Mar — A dedicated kids’ room and a relaxed pool on a gated ridge above Dominicalito Bay. Ocean views from every room.
• Casa Ola Vista — Single-level with no internal stairs — the layout that removes the most worry with small children.
• Casa Colibri — Easy arrival, a capable kitchen and a washer/dryer that families single out as making the week easier.

Stairs, Knees & Multi-Generational Trips

Hillside architecture on this coast means levels: most homes step down the slope, and bedrooms are often a flight below the living space. Casa Ola Vista is the exception, and it pairs a flat interior with easy access outside. Casa Colibri is the next best answer — there are stairs inside, but the arrival is paved and level and the parking is at the door. Villa Vista del Mar deserves a specific warning here: it is multi-level by design, with the master on top and three rooms down by the pool, which several groups have loved and a few have found tiring.

For a genuine accessibility requirement rather than a preference — a wheelchair, a walker, a grandparent who cannot manage a flight of stairs — Villa Costa Vida in Manuel Antonio is the one to look at first: paved approach, a private elevator through the building, and an accessibility-optimised suite with a step-free layout in its Villa Tower. Nothing else in the collection answers all three at once.

Large Groups & Two Families

• Villa Costa Vida — Ten bedrooms above Manuel Antonio for up to 34, or seventeen bedrooms and 56 with the adjoining Villa Tower — the only home on this coast at conference-and-wedding scale under one roof.
• Casa Frenchie — A main house plus the Casa Louie casita on a secluded jungle estate above Dominical — the collection’s true large-group home.
• Casa Bella Viña — Brand-new and spacious, midway between Uvita and Dominical — built for reunions rather than intimacy.
• Riverstone — A 2026 build above Dominical sleeping twelve, minutes from town, the beach and a swimmable river.
• Casa Colibri — Ten in real beds, twelve with the flex-room Murphy bed — the largest group that can arrive without a 4x4.

Booking two neighbouring homes is common here and usually works better than squeezing everyone under one roof; the team arranges it regularly, including separate payment links so each family pays its own share.

Couples & Small, Quiet Trips

• Casa ReSol — Deep rainforest above Uvita — infinity pool, abundant wildlife, dark skies. Guests describe it as romantic and restorative.
• Villa Roca — Brand-new and design-led above Ojochal, with a Whale’s-Tail view and Ojochal’s restaurants on the doorstep.
• Tiki Vibez — A characterful tropical hideaway on two private acres, with a view down the coast to the Osa Peninsula — a favourite for slow travel.
• Colores del Viento — Striking indoor-outdoor architecture in Escaleras, with an outdoor kitchen and bar to gather around. Note it is not fully enclosed and air-conditioned throughout.

Working Remotely

Casa Ola Vista has fast FiOS internet. Casa LaVista has a dedicated ocean-view office with a Murphy double, so it doubles as a fifth sleeping space. Casa Colibri pairs reliable Wi-Fi and a capable kitchen with paved access, which matters more than people expect on a working stay: a 4x4 climb is charming on holiday and wearing when you do it twice a day for a month.

Weddings, Retreats & Celebrations

Casa Frenchie has hosted all-girls retreats, wellness and yoga groups, and 40th and 60th birthday celebrations. Casa Amigos and Casa LaVista have hosted real weddings and have the outdoor living to carry a party. Casa Bella Viña holds a crowd but is not a dedicated events venue. Villa Costa Vida is the one property built for organised group travel — a conference room, several separate gathering areas, and up to 56 beds — though event permissions there vary by configuration and date and should be confirmed first.

Confirm any event with the team before booking. Several homes sit inside gated communities with their own noise and guest rules, and the honest answer for some homes — Solaz among them — is simply no.

Deep Seclusion & Wildlife

• Casa Grande del Mar — Seventeen-plus acres of private jungle preserve near Uvita and Tres Ríos — the most land of any home here.
• Casa ReSol — About fifteen minutes up into rainforest above Uvita; wildlife and night skies are the point.
• Casa Frenchie — A jungle estate where the house itself is the destination.
• Tiki Vibez — Two private acres in the jungle hills above Ojochal.

Close to Town

• Riverstone — Minutes to Dominical’s beach, town and a swimmable river.
• Villa del Cielo — Between Uvita and Dominical, five minutes from the beach — though the entrance road is steep.
• Casa Ola Vista — Close to Dominical, easy access, single-level.
• Villa Roca — Ojochal’s restaurant scene — the best food in the region — is on the doorstep.

The Trade-Off Nobody Escapes

The homes with the most dramatic outlooks are the ones highest up the hill, which means the roughest access and the longest drive to sand. The homes you can walk to the beach from sit low, which means less panorama. The homes with paved access are the rare middle ground, and there are only three of them. Guests who are happiest here are the ones who decided in advance which of the three mattered most — and the ones who are disappointed almost always expected all three.
