A four-wheel-drive vehicle is required for the road in, and several guests mention it (“Definitely listen to the 4 wheel drive requirement!”). From San José (SJO) it's a 3.5-hour drive south, or take the short flight to Quepos and continue by road; the team arranges 4x4 rentals and shuttles and meets you to guide you in.
